Mumbai: Temperatures in Mumbai had confusingly gone from chilly to chilli-hot last week, sending tempers soaring, with complaints of even the briefest semblance of winter having given us the ditch. However, by Sunday morning, the nip in the air had returned, much to everyone’s delight; the minimum temperature recorded in Mumbai was 17 °C, a drop of eight degrees in three days.

Mumbai Expected To Record Its Lowest Temperature On December 2024

As per IMD Mumbai’s weekly weather report, on December 10, the city is expected to record its lowest temperatures of the week – a maximum and minimum of 32 °C and 16 °C respectively. The sky will be mainly clear this week.

“The average day temperature last week was around 25 °C and this week, it is expected to be 18 to 19 °C,” said IMD Mumbai chief Sunil Kamble.

Mumbaikars will be able to enjoy pleasant weather and clear visibility, he added. On Sunday, the Santacruz observatory recorded maximum and minimum temperatures of 33.7 °C and 17.2 °C respectively.

In mid-November occurred one of the coldest winter mornings this year, with the mercury dipping to as low as 15-16 °C. However, in the first week of December was one of the hottest days in this month so far.

IMD Mumbai Chief Sunil Kamble On The Ups & Downs In The Temperatures

“The ups and downs in the temperatures will continue till January-end. Winter is affected by how strong the northerly winds are,” Kamble explained.

A mere whiff of cold weather was enough to delight citizens on Sunday. Several took to social media to post photos and videos showing how pleasant it was. “Thankfully it’s pleasant weather again in Mumbai. Feels good,” posted an X user, Kaushal Mande.
