Legendary actress Rekha recently made an appearance in the latest episode of Kapil Sharma’s show The Great Indian Kapil Show, which premiered on Netflix. During the episode, she recalled how she wished to have a daughter like Lata Mangeshkar in her next life, and the late singer’s heartfelt response deeply touched her.
Rekha revealed how she attended Lata’s birthday, during which, she went to the stage and told her, ‘Lata didi, I am your biggest fan, and God, if you are listening to me, then in the next birth, give me a daughter like Lata didi.’
To this, Lata told Rekha, “Why in the next birth? I am your daughter in this birth too.’ The actress shared that immediately Lata came to her and called her “Mumma, Mumma!” and since that day, she can hear the singer’s voice in her ears.
Further, in the episode, Rekha credited Amitabh Bachchan for her dandiya performance in Suhaag. A fan asked her, “In the movie Suhaag, you played dandiya so well. Even though you are a South Indian, you played the Gujarati dandiya so well. It didn’t feel like you were not a Gujarati. How did you manage it?”
In response, Rekha said, “Ye sochiye ke jinke saath main Dhandiya khel rahi thi, wo kya shaks hai. Acha nahi khelungi toh kya karungi? Dandiya aati ya na aati ho, saamna aise aadmi-shaqs aa jaata hai toh khud hi har angh angh theerakhne lagta hai.”
Meanwhile, during the episode, Krushna Abhishek and Sunil Grover dressed up as Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan for a special act, leaving Rekha in splits with their hilarious performance.
