One of the co-founders of the IT titan Infosys, NR Narayana Murthy, paid Rs 50 crore for a luxurious apartment in Bengaluru’s upscale Kingfisher Towers.

The Times of India reported that the 16th-floor apartment, which is 8,400 square feet and has four bedrooms, has five parking spots. One of the most costly residential transactions in the city, the apartment costs Rs 50 crore, or Rs 59,500 per square foot.

In 2020, Sudha Murty, Murthy’s wife, paid Rs 29 crore for a 23rd-floor apartment in the same complex.

In the center of Bengaluru, in UB City, are Kingfisher Towers. In 2010, Vijay Mallya and the Prestige Group collaborated to build the project on 4.5 acres of land that had once been Mallya’s ancestral home.

The 81 ultra-luxury apartments in the three blocks of the 34-story Kingfisher Towers are each more than 8,000 square feet. The apartments were sold for Rs 22,000 per square foot when the project was first introduced in 2010.

Other high profile residents

One of the most sought-after residential complexes in Bengaluru is Kingfisher Towers, where apartments are owned by a number of well-known individuals, including US businessman Krishna Chivukula, Karnataka minister KJ George’s son Rana George, and Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, executive chairperson of Biocon.

Due to a decrease in supply and an increase in demand, the cost of ultra-luxury apartments in the garden city has increased by roughly 30 per cent in recent years.

Recent real estate deal in bengaluru

The chairman and managing director of Quess Corp, a Bengaluru-based business, Ajit Isaac, purchased a 10,000 square foot property in the Koramangala neighborhood, the IT capital’s billionaire street, for Rs 67.5 crore earlier this year. They claimed that the deal was the most costly one in Bengaluru to date, with prices per square foot of about Rs 70,300.
