Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A woman died of an electric shock after she tried to pull out the heating rod from a water bucket without turning the switch off. The incident was reported in Bhopal on Thursday afternoon.
Marks of severe burns were found on her hands and throat.
The deceased was identified as Sapna Chaurasia (35), wife of Ritesh Chaurasia, resident of New Labour Colony in Dawa Bazar.
According to information, Sapna was alone at her house on Thursday. She plugged in the electric rod to heat the water for doing household chores. While removing the rod, she forgot to switch it off, and her hand got stuck to the rod. As soon as she got an electric shock, the rod bounced and stuck to her neck and died on the spot.
When Sapna’s 6-year-old daughter returned from school in the afternoon, she knocked on the door. But, there was no response. She then informed her neighbour. The neighbour accompanied the little girl and the duo started banging the door. Again, there was no reply. Panicked, the neighbour informed Sapna’s husband Ritesh.
Ritesh then rushed to his house, broke the lock of the door and was shocked to see Sapna lying unconscious in the washroom. Thjere were severe burns on her neck and hands. Meanwhile, police were informed and a team reached the spot. The police sent the dead body for post-mortem.
