Indore Shocker! 27 Boxes Of Documents Stolen From DEO Office | Representative Image

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): As many as 27 boxes containing several important documents were stolen from the District Education Office situated near Bada Ganpati, an official said on Thursday.

As per sources, the unidentified thieves broke the windows of a guarded room and took away the boxes containing documents related to education, finances and even legal matters. However, the reason behind the theft is yet to be discovered.

The incident occurred on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday and came to light after a case was registered on Thursday.

District project officer lodged complaint

Additional DCP Alok Kumar Sharma said that Narendra Jain, additional district project officer, lodged a complaint with Malharganj police stating that the office was locked by the security guard on Monday evening and when he returned the next morning, the windows were broken and as many as 27 boxes containing several important documents were found stolen.

What kind of documents were present in the boxes?

The documents including writ petition, contempt petition, reply to special leave petition, copies of court cases, salary bills, appointment papers, and documents related to budget, promotions and grant/scholarships dated between 2008 and 2020 were stolen.

The police registered a case against the unidentified accused under sections 305(a) and 331(4) of the BNS and further investigation is underway.
