Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The schedule for the Global Investors’ summit (GIS) to be held in the state capital is being changed. It was initially decided that GIS would be held on February 7 and 8.
Time was also sought from the industrialists who were to take part in the summit according to the schedule. But now, it will not be held according to the previous plan. The Industries Department has sent fresh dates (February 20 and 21) to Chief Minister Mohan Yadav. After Yadav’s approval, the fresh dates will be announced.
The state government wants to invite Prime Minister Narendra Modi as chief guest to the event. Modi will be busy in an event in Delhi on February 7. Against this backdrop, the state government will fix new dates for GIS so that Modi may attend it. Several investors’ summits will be held in different states across the country from December this year to February next year.
The industries department is also mulling over the fact that the dates for GIS to be held in Bhopal do not clash with those of the other states.
GIS to be held either in Jamboree Maidan or in Lal Parade ground
GIS is being held for the first time in Bhopal. The government is planning to hold the event either in Jamboree Maidan or in Lal Parade Ground. If a helipad is constructed at Jamboree Maidan, the guests can directly reach the venue. Once the dates are finalised, the industries department will have to book hotels and other arrangements for the guests. The department is trying to take a decision on the new schedules for the event.
After RIC in Narmadapuram, it will be held in Shahdol, Ratlam
The government is going to organise Regional Investors’ Conclave (RIC) in Narmadapuram on December 7. Afterwards, it will be held in Shahdol division besides the plans are afoot to organise RIC in Ratlam.
