Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The state government has again issued a 13-year-old order. In 2011, the state government issued an order to keep a box in every department for putting complaints about corruption into it. After the order, many departments kept such boxes. The government again issued the order asking the departments to put complaint boxes in their departments.

In the order, it was mentioned that some departments defied the instructions issued in 2011. So, all the departments have been directed to carry out the fresh order in letter and spirit. The General Administration Department issued the directive to all divisional commissioners, heads of departments and collectors.

According to sources, the previous order said the boxes should be regularly opened and the complaints related to corruption checked. The previous order further said the box would be put under lock and key and the complaints written on it.

The complaints received in the box should be registered. A weekly report of the complaints has to be prepared, and a senior officer has been asked to act on these complaints about which information will be uploaded on the portal. The boxes were put in the departments during the tenure of the then chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who is now a Union Minister.

In the beginning, it was given a lot of publicity, but afterwards, the system of keeping complaint a box in each department was swept under the carpet. The Mohan Yadav-led government has issued the order afresh so that the complaints may directly reach the government.

The Special Establishment Police of Lokayukta has also issued a phone number for lodging complaints about corruption.
