Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Carcass of a tigress was found in Chiklod range on Wednesday afternoon. As all body parts were intact, forest officials felt that it was a case of natural death.

However, exact reason would be known after post-mortem.

Chief Conservator of Forest (CCF) Rajesh Khare said that tigress was cremated after autopsy. According to initial opinion of veterinary doctors, tigress, aged around four years, died a natural death. “We will be able to know the actual cause of death after receiving the post mortem report,” he said.
Expressing concern over feline’s death, wildlife activist Ajay Dubey claimed that professional hunters were near Ratapani Tiger Reserve and government should act tough against them.

In the past, a tiger carcass with gunshot wound in head was found in the same Chiklod range of Obaidullahganj forest division. The tiger was killed in the peak monsoon season. Probe is yet to conclude in this incident. Chiklod range is close to Ratapani Tiger Reserve.
