Jaipur, 4 December (Hindustan Reporter). Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani reviewed the digital work of Rajasthan Assembly on Wednesday. Devnani instructed the concerned officers to complete the work of digitalizing the Assembly House and the Assembly Secretariat through e-Vidhan by December 31. He visited the spot and inspected the progress of the work.

Devnani said that the upcoming session of Rajasthan Assembly will be paper based. He said that the House of Rajasthan Assembly will be seen in a new form in the new session. The work of Neva Project to install computer equipment on the seats of members in the Assembly House and to equip the Assembly House with paper is in the final stage.

The work of installing computer equipment on the tables of MLAs in the Legislative Assembly House and making the Assembly paperless will probably be completed by the end of this month in a phased manner. With e-Vidhan, the working of Rajasthan Legislative Assembly will become digital.

Devnani said that an I-pad is being installed on every seat of the MLAs in the House. A laptop with printer will also be provided to the MLAs at their residence. An amount of Rs 12.61 crore will be spent in this project. In this amount, 60 percent participation will be from the Central Government and 40 percent participation will be from the State Government.

Devnani said that the place for establishment of Neva Seva Kendra (e-learning cum e-facilitation centre) has been determined in the assembly. Under this, MLAs, officers and employees will be given training on Neva modules. Training material will be made available in English, Hindi and regional languages. Technical assistance will be provided to the MLAs on the spot in the House to enable them to work online.

Devnani said that he is constantly reviewing this important project of digitalizing the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly. During his visit to four countries last month, he took daily reports of this work by telephone. He also inspected this work online every day during his trip abroad.

The House and Secretariat of Rajasthan Legislative Assembly are going digital through National e-Vidhan Application (Neva). With this, the proceedings of the Legislative Assembly and the Secretariat will become paperless. This e-Vidhan application will make it easier for members and officials of the State Assembly to work. Under this application, media, researchers and common citizens will also be able to easily view information about bills, reports etc. related to the House of Assembly. According to the Tripartite Memorandum of Under Standing, the process of digitalizing the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly with the use of National e-Vidhan Application under the “One Nation-One Application” of the Central Government to digitalize the state assemblies is being expedited. The e-Vidhan app will be able to run on both Android and iOS mobiles. This app will also be available in e-book and website. Under Neva, House proceedings details, papers laid in the House, information related to bills, reports of committees, questions and their answers, bulletins, proceedings details, digital library, notifications and information related to members will be available in a single application.
