Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A brutal case of corporal punishment has been reported from Madhya Pradesh’s Singrauli, where a teacher allegedly pulled out handful of hair of a sixth-class student after he couldn’t recall the name of the chapter of social science. The visuals for the same surfaced on Wednesday.
The victim was identified as Alok Saket. His father worked as a labourer.
The incident took place at Jawahar Navodaya School, Singrauli district. After the visuals surfaced, the collector took cognizance of the matter and ordered action. The teacher was given notice.
According to information, social science teacher Syed Ghazi was taking the class. During the class, he asked Alok the name of the chapter which he couldn’t recall on Sunday. Angry, the teacher allegedly beat him and pulled out the hair above his ears. The boy also sustained injuries on his head. The visuals for the same have surfaced on social media.
Following this, the matter came to the Collector on Wednesday itself and he took swift action. The victim’s father told the collector that he was being pressurised by the school authority for not complaining about this anywhere. Moreover, the school principal was also called and asked to take strict action against the accused teacher.
Earlier, a private school teacher allegedly beat a 14-year-old boy in Shivpuri for not completing the home-work in Shivpuri. He then consumed poison and died.
