A second-year MBBS student at BR Ambedkar Medical College, identified as Rahul Garasiya, allegedly died by suicide after jumping from the rooftop of the college building in Rajasthan’s Sirohi district, police said on Tuesday.

According to Shivganj Deputy Superintendent of Police Pushpendra Verma, Garasiya was reportedly upset over his performance in an exam conducted on Monday. While studying with friends on the third floor that evening, he excused himself, saying he felt sleepy.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Pushpendra Verma explained that on Tuesday morning, fellow students discovered him on the ground and rushed him to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The police found a mobile phone, a jacket, and a slipper on the sixth floor of the college building. Garasiya was originally from Panetra village in the Bali tehsil of Pali district.

In a similar incident last week, an 18-year-old JEE aspirant in Kota, Rajasthan, allegedly died by suicide, marking the 16th such case in Kota this year. No suicide note was recovered, and the cause remains under investigation.
