Dehradun, 3 December (HS). The state government will honor 160 excellent businessmen for their participation in the development of the state through revenue generation. Traders will be selected district wise for this scheme. For this, the Finance Minister has given administrative and financial approval to the scheme.

Finance Minister Dr. Premchand Aggarwal said on Tuesday that traders registered under the State Tax Department have an important role in the development of the state in the field of revenue generation. ‘Registered Trader Samman Yojana’ scheme is proposed by the State Government to encourage and honor such registered traders of the state who are regularly following the procedures of filing returns, depositing tax and other acts.

Minister Dr. Aggarwal said that this scheme will be applicable to such traders registered with Uttarakhand State Tax Department, whose annual turnover will be up to Rs 20 crore. All wholesale and retail traders of goods and services will be included in this scheme. The selection of this scheme will be district wise. This includes 20 traders each from Dehradun and Haridwar districts, 15 traders each from Udham Singh Nagar and Nainital and 10 traders each from the remaining nine districts (Pauri, Tehri, Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Almora, Champawat, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh). 160 businessmen will be honored. For this, Finance Minister Dr. Premchand Aggarwal has given administrative and financial approval. The Minister said that for the selection of traders, a committee will be formed under the chairmanship of Zonal Additional Commissioner and Joint Commissioner at each divisional level. In which one Deputy Commissioner, one Assistant Commissioner and one state officer will be the members. On behalf of this committee, after preparing the number of traders determined for the honor in respect of the districts under its jurisdiction and selecting the traders, the list of selected traders will be sent to the headquarters after approval from the Zonal Additional Commissioner.

Eligibility for Registered Trader Samman Yojana:

The Finance Minister said that the businessman should be registered with the State Tax Department. The turnover of the businessman should not exceed Rs 20 crore annually. Under the scheme, wholesale and retail traders from all sectors related to goods and services will be included. The businessman must have been regular in depositing taxes and filing returns in the last maximum five years. No adverse action should have been taken against the businessman in the last maximum five years. There should not be any revenue liability of any kind remaining against the businessman.
