Solan, 03 December (Hindustan Reporter). E-KYC has been started here for the subsidy given by the government on electricity bills. On Tuesday, e-KYC of domestic consumers was done at the Government Industrial Training Institute for the residents of ward number two of the city. For this, the mobile number is being linked with the Aadhaar number of the consumer. So that the consumer can be provided information about electricity bill and subsidy on his mobile number.
Tenants will not be able to get subsidy through this system. Because most of the electricity meters are installed in the name of the landlord. Therefore, only the landlord will be able to get the direct benefit of the subsidy.
Sanjeev, the field executive engaged in this work in ward number two, said that this arrangement has been made at different places for the residents of every ward of the city. Whereas consumers can also get their e-KYC done in the electricity department office. He said that two days, Monday and Tuesday, were kept for the consumers of Ward No. 2. According to him, more than 250 people have come here and got their KYC done.
