The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a notification outlining the “Guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for practical examinations, projects, and internal assessments” for classes 10 and 12. These guidelines aim to promote consistency in instructions and ensure accuracy in procedures. The practical examinations are set to occur from January 1, 2025, to February 14, 2025.
Here are the main guidelines for conducting practical examinations, projects, and internal assessments for classes 10 and 12:
1. All practical examinations, projects, and internal assessments should follow the guidelines and practical syllabus defined for the academic session, available on the CBSE Academic Branch’s official website: cbseacademic.nic.in.
2. Marks for practical examinations, projects, and internal assessments must be uploaded simultaneously as they are conducted, within the specified period from January 1, 2025, to February 14, 2025.
3. Any student found attempting to communicate with or influence examiners or using any inappropriate methods to gain an unfair advantage during exams or assessments will be considered to have engaged in unfair means. Examiners are required to report such occurrences immediately, including all relevant details, documents, and witness statements, to the Regional Office. Any action that threatens the integrity of the assessment will be classified as an unfair means (UFM) incident, and the Board will take appropriate measures accordingly.
Specific instructions
For CBSE Class 10, the Board will not assign any external examiners or provide practical answer books. Schools must independently make all necessary arrangements. After completing the practical examinations, projects, or internal assessments, students’ answer books do not need to be submitted to the regional office.
