Mumbai: Ahead of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar’s 68th death anniversary, Mahaparinirvan Diwas, the Mumbai Traffic Police issued a traffic advisory for December 5-7 to manage the large influx of visitors at Chaitya Bhoomi in Shivaji Park in Dadar. With thousands of followers expected to pay homage, vehicular movement in and around Dadar will be affected.

Traffic Restrictions:

To ensure smooth traffic flow and public safety, several roads will be either closed or converted into one-way routes:

– Swatantra Veer Savarkar Road: Closed from Siddhivinayak Temple to Hinduja Hospital. Residents may access through Pandurang Naik Road.

– S.K. Bole Road: Northbound traffic allowed from Siddhivinayak to Portuguese Church. Southbound entry restricted.

– Ranade Road, Dnyneshwar Mandir Road, Jambhekar Maharaj Road, Keluskar Roads (North & South), M.B. Raut Road, and Katariya Road: All closed for vehicular traffic.

Heavy Vehicle Restrictions:

Entry for heavy vehicles will be restricted on key routes, including:

– S.V. Road: From Mahim Junction to Hardikar Junction.

– L.J. Road: Mahim Junction to Gadkari Junction.

– Gokhale Road: Gadkari Junction to Dhanmil Naka.

– Senapati Bapat Road: From Mahim Railway Station to Vadacha Naka.

Additionally, Tilak Bridge and all access points to N.C. Kelkar Road will be closed.

No Parking Zones:

The following areas will be designated as no-parking zones from December 5-7:

– Swatantra Veer Savarkar Road, Dnyneshwar Mandir Road, Jambhekar Maharaj Road, Ranade Road, Keluskar Roads (North & South), M.B. Raut Road, Pandurang Naik Road, N.C. Kelkar Road, and nearby areas.

– Other affected streets include: Kashinath Dhuru Road, Kirti College Lane, Lady Jahangir Road, and Nathalal Parekh Road, among others.

Alternate Parking Facilities:

Visitors can use designated parking areas, including:

– Senapati Bapat Marg: Locations near Mahim and Dadar West.

– Kamgar Stadium: Near Senapati Bapat Marg.

– India Bulls International Centre & One India Bulls Centre: Elphinstone.

– Kohinoor Square and Lodha Compound: Dadar and Lower Parel.

– Five Gardens, Adenwala Road, and Nathalal Parekh Road: Matunga East.

– RAK Road and Wadala West areas.

The police have requested motorists to follow the diversions and use public transport wherever possible to avoid inconvenience. The arrangements aim to facilitate a smooth experience for the large gatherings expected at Shivaji Park for Mahaparinirvan Diwas.
