Ingredients for making Amla Candy
- Amla – 500 grams
- Sugar – 300 grams
- Water – 1 cup
- Black salt – 1 tablespoon
- Ajwain – ½ tsp
- Lemon juice – 2 tbsp
- Black pepper – ½ tsp
- Turmeric – ½ tsp
- Salt – ½ tsp
- Black pepper – ½ tsp
- Asafoetida – 1 pinch
- sugar syrup
How to make Amla Candy
- – First of all, wash the gooseberry thoroughly, remove the seeds and cut it.
- – After this, boil water in a vessel and add Amla in it.
- – Now boil it for 5-10 minutes and take out the gooseberries and cool it.
- – Now add 1 cup water and sugar in a pan and boil.
- When the sugar dissolves completely and the syrup is ready, add asafoetida, celery, black pepper, turmeric and salt to it.
- Boil this syrup for 5-7 minutes so that the syrup becomes thick.
- When the temperature of the syrup cools down a bit, add lemon juice to it.
- – Add boiled gooseberry to the syrup and mix well.
- Let it cook on low flame for 5-7 minutes so that the Amla absorbs the syrup and gets its full flavour.
- – Now take out the Amla candy and keep it in a plate or tray to dry thoroughly.
- Leave it to dry in the sun for 1-2 days.
- When the Amla dries completely, the sweet and sour Amla candy is ready.
- It can be stored in an airtight container and eaten later.
