The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay saw an eventful start to its placement season on Sunday, with over 45 companies visiting the campus on the first day.

Trading firm Da Vinci Derivatives made headlines by offering a ₹2.2 crore package for a role in its Amsterdam office, extending offers to at least three students. However, the exact number of offers for positions in both Amsterdam and Mumbai offices remains unclear.

Hedge fund Jane Street, known for its ₹3.7 crore package last year, extended pre-placement offers, while IMC Trading offered ₹1 crore packages for roles in its Mumbai office, shortlisting 10 candidates.

Other high-paying recruiters included Graviton, Quadeye, and WorldQuant, with domestic roles exceeding ₹90 lakh packages. Quadeye also offered positions for its Hong Kong office. According to students, leading trading firms are offering packages close to or exceeding ₹1 crore.

Major Recruiters

As per reports, prominent companies like Nvidia, consultancy giants McKinsey and BCG, Blackstone, Sony Japan, PineBridge, and GE Aerospace participated on Day 1. Qualcomm shortlisted 90 candidates for interviews by late evening.

Tech Giants & Domestic Offers

Tech leaders such as Flipkart, Apple, Ola, Microsoft, and Google also made domestic offers, marking a robust start to the placement season.
