Actor Shahid Kapoor, who was last seen in the romantic comedy Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha, opened up about his arranged marriage to Mira Rajput in 2015 when she was 21 years old. Recently, the actor revealed that after marrying Mira, he felt a strong sense of responsibility to protect her from the ‘big bad world of movies and glamour.’
Appearing on The Faye D’Souza Show, Shahid said, “When we got married, I thought that I would have to protect her because she is this 20-year-old girl who’s just coming from Delhi. And this is a big bad world of movies and glamour, and everybody is so judgy.”
Further, Kapoor said that Mira is a strong and a solid person, who comes from a very strong family and is very self-assured and extremely intelligent. “She is very stubborn, and you should be stubborn because that’s how you protect yourself,” added Shahid.
Further, Shahid said that Mira is now more protection of him as he believes that she is more of a ‘social creature’ than him.
“She has recognized that he (Shahid) is an actor, but I am more socially comfortable. She got more comfortable in the parties that I had been attending for years… even before I got comfortable in there. I was like she’s already more comfortable than I was,” the Jab We Met actor added.
