A lady constable walking on a street in Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, ununiformed, was attacked by a few people in broad daylight. The incident has shocked people and made them question on the safety of woman in the region. A video from the spot recorded a biker approaching the cop and misbehaving with her after a brief conversation. He forcefully held her and appeared to kiss her in full public view.

The biker slapped the constable identified as Amreen and dragged her to the ground, where he appeared to touch her inappropriately.

The video opened by showing the woman casually walking on the street when the biker stopped his vehicle next to her and hit a conversation.

While the visuals initially showed only the biker misbehaving with her and physically assaulting her in public, it later showed more men beating her up.

More men attack her in public view

Meanwhile, the video showed an elderly man in the premises trying to stop the actions of the biker and free Amreen. Even if he managed to pull them out for a second, the woman was attacked further. Few men kicked her on her stomach and slapped her. She tried resisting and giving them back, followed by taking her phone into her hand suggesting to ring the local police for immediate assistance.

Case registered

In a case registered in this matter, Amreen mentioned that she was abused and attacked on her private (non-duty) hours by a few men.

Addressing the matter, the Moradabad Police released a video on social media stating that the case of the woman constable has been registered and legal action is underway.

“In relation to the abuse, assault, indecency etc. by some people with a woman constable under the jurisdiction of Police Station Civil Lines, a case has been registered under relevant sections at Police Station Civil Lines Moradabad, other legal proceedings are underway”, said Moradabad Police.
