Bollywood actor Vikrant Massey shocked his fans and followers, on Monday, as he announced his decision to quit acting after the release for his two upcoming films in 2025. Taking to his Instagram account, the actor shared an official note to thank his fans while announcing the decision. However, soon after he posted it, his co-stars and other Bollywood celebs expressed shock.
Vikrant wrote, “The last few years and beyond have been phenomenal. I thank each and everyone of you for your incredible support. But as I move forward, I realise it’s time to recalibrate and go back home. As a husband, father and a son. And also as an actor.”
“So coming 2025, we would meet each other for one last time. Until time deems right. Last 2 movies and many a years of memories. Thank you again. For everything and everything in between. Forever indebted,” he concluded.
Celebs express shock
Reacting to his post, his The Sabarmati Report co-star Raashii Khanna commented, “What? No.”
Actress Medha Shankar, who starred opposite Vikrant in 12th Fail, commented, “???? What?”
Actress Akansha Ranjan wrote, “What????? Sonu!! No 😢 you are one of the very few real actors we have left.”
Sapna Pabbi, an actress, wrote, “I hear you, I see you, I feel you. Congrats on finding and surrendering to purpose and dharma. More power to you. You are an inspiration.”
On the other hand, actress Dia Mirza wrote, “Breaks are best ❤️ you’ll be even more amazing on the other side.”
Vikrant was last seen in Ektaa Kapoor’s The Sabarmati Report, which crossed Rs 30 crore at the global box office. The film claimed to show the truth behind the burning of the Sabarmati Express in Godhra, which led to the Gujarat riots.
Over the years, Vikrant starred in critically-acclaimed films and shows like Dil Dhadakne Do, Death In The Gunj, Mirzapur, Chhapaak, Haseen Dillruba, Sector 36 and 12th Fail.
One of Vikrant’s last two films will reportedly be Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyaan, alongside Shanaya Kapoor. The actor was also in talks for the biopic of Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, however, the makers have not announced anything officially yet.
