To reduce the time to reach Mars, Musk is currently designing his spacecraft Starship differently. Fully equipped with fuel, the spacecraft can reach speeds of more than 36,000 kilometers per hour during the journey. This will cover the distance between Earth and Mars in 80 to 100 days, which is a huge improvement over existing spacecraft.

Currently, spacecraft normally travel at speeds of 39,600 kilometers per hour. Due to which it takes a long time to reach Mars. But Musk believes new technologies, such as orbital refueling and more powerful engines, could further reduce travel times. According to some estimates, a starship using this technology could reach Mars in only 45 to 90 days.
SpaceX proposes that a fuel tanker will also be sent with Starship during this journey. It will refuel the main spacecraft midway. This will not only increase the speed but the vehicle will also be able to carry more load.
