Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh): Union health minister JP Nadda on Sunday reviewed the presentation organised in the Collector Auditorium regarding the action plan and preparations for Simhastha Mahaparv-2028. He said, if the action plan is implemented, Ujjain will be successful in preserving its cultural, religious and mythological heritage.

Ujjain has its religious, cultural and mythological heritage, with this type of action plan, the ancient glory of Ujjain will return and it will get the form of King Vikramaditya’s Avantika, he said. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, MPs VD Sharma and Anil Firojiya and district minister-in-charge Gautam Tetwal were present.

During the presentation, CM Yadav said about the action plan to make Kshipra river flowing. He said that with these action plans, Kshipra will be made to flow uninterrupted and clean at the lowest cost and in Simhastha 2028 bathing in Kshipra will be done with Kshipra water only. He instructed officials to begin work to give a concrete shape to the action plan.

He informed that in the next Simhastha, permanent ghats will be constructed from basalt stone on both sides of Kshipra, which will give permanence to the form of Kshipra in the coming times and there will be no need to construct additional ghats.

During presentation, divisional commissioner Sanjay Gupta and collector Neeraj Kumar Singh informed that ropeway is being constructed from the railway station to Mahakaleshwar temple at a cost of Rs 199 crore.

The 1.76 km ropeway is being constructed, under which devotees will travel through 48 cable cars with a capacity of 10 passengers in each of them. Work is also being done on upgradation of railway station and Ujjain-Agar-Jhalawar railway track at Rs 2,836 crore.

Besides, a satellite station is to be developed in Ujjain district with basic passenger facilities at a cost of Rs 30 crore.

For convenience of passengers, development work is also being done to upgrade Sadaval helipad and airstrip. Four new helipads are being constructed at Sadaval at a cost of Rs 13.52 crore.
