Mumbai: A 34-year-old woman lost her life in a tragic accident near Fortis Hospital on the Mulund-Goregaon Link Road while on her way to a family get-together in Tambe Nagar, Mulund West. The accident occurred around 11:15 PM on November 30 when a truck hit a two-wheeler from behind, causing her fatal injuries. She succumbed to her injuries on the spot.
The deceased has been identified as Amruta Vishal Poonamia (34). She was traveling with her husband, Vishal Poonamia, and their two-year-old daughter, Hezal, on a two-wheeler to a family gathering when the accident occurred.
The incident took place between 11:00 PM and 11:15 PM on November 30 when a speeding truck hit their two-wheeler from behind. Amruta, seated on the pillion, fell off and was run over by the rear wheel of the truck, sustaining fatal injuries. Her husband and daughter miraculously escaped unhurt.
Vishal Poonamia’s family resides near the Mulund-Goregaon Link Road and Nahur. The tragic accident has left the family shattered, with their two-year-old daughter losing her mother.

The Mulund Police have registered a case against an unidentified truck driver, but no arrests have been made so far. Amruta’s relatives have expressed dissatisfaction with the police’s handling of the case, citing delays and the lack of CCTV footage at the accident site, which has hampered the investigation.
The family has appealed for swift action to bring the responsible driver to justice while mourning the irreparable loss.
