Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Madhya Pradesh is witnessing extreme cold and the minimum temperature is gradually decreasing. The mercury reached 5.2 degrees in Pachmarhi, while temperature in Naugaon was recorded at 8 degrees. The night temperature on the intervening night of Saturday-Sunday in 11 cities of the state was less than 10 degrees.
According to meteorological department, currently jet stream is present in the northwestern region of the country and due to this, the winds blowing from west to east at speed of 260 kms per hour. Moreover, Cyclone Fangal is active in the Bay of Bengal and likely to hit the coast of Mahabalipuram.
