Bihar’s Suman Kumar made history by taking all 10 wickets in an innings during the Under-19 Cooch Behar Trophy match against Rajasthan. Suman bowled 33.5 overs during Rajasthan’s first innings and finished with figures of 10/53 in 20 overs.

Kumar becomes only the third bowler to take 10 wickets in an innings in the Cooch Behar Trophy (Youth First-Class) and the first ever to achieve it with a hat-trick.

This is the second instance in the ongoing Indian domestic season where a bowler has achieved this rare feat. Earlier, Haryana pacer Anshul Kamboj took 10 wickets in a Ranji Trophy match against Kerala. With 10 wicket haul against Rajasthan, Kumar has now taken 22 wickets in total this season.

The 10-wicket haul included a hattrick as well. Suman cleaned up Mohit Bhagtani on the fourth delivery of the 36th over before trapping Anas plumb in front of his stumps on the next ball. His hat-trick ball saw him shatter the stumps of Sachin Sharma who came to bat at number six for Rajasthan.

Suman also contributed to Bihar’s first innings total with the bat in hand as he scored 22 off 56 balls, including four boundaries. In response, Rajasthan were bundled out for just 182, thanks to Suman Kumar’s heroics.

At Day 3 Rajasthan were 173/2 in their second innings trailing Bihar by 112 runs. Bihar Cricket Association president, Rakesh Tiwari congratulated the youngster and said, “Suman Kumar’s historic achievement of taking all 10 wickets in an innings is a moment of immense pride for Bihar cricket.”
