Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): Two labourers died and one is critically injured after bamboo poles broke during temple wall construction in Jabalpur on Saturday.

According to reports, four labourers were buried under the debris. Local people pulled them out and rushed the injured to a nearby hospital.

During the treatment, two died and one is critical.

The injured were identified as Akash Sonwal, Sonu Sonwal, Suraj Sonwal and Pankaj Sonwal, residents of Rajasthan.

PK Bansal, ASI Police Station Tilwara told Free Press that a detailed investigation into the incident is underway.

According to information, construction was going on in a temple in Dayodaya Gaushala of Jabalpur. When the labourers were constructing a wall, the bamboo poles being used as supporting material suddenly broke on Saturday evening.

The four labourers named Akash Sonwal, Sonu Sonwal, Suraj Sonwal and Pankaj Sonwal lost their balance and fell on the ground along with the wall.

Labourers buried under debris

All four of them were buried under the debris. Fortunately, local people witnessed the tragic accident and pulled them out. All the injured were immediately admitted to the medical hospital, where a team of doctors is continuously monitoring their condition. Out of the four, three labourers are critical.

Upon hearing the commotion, the police were informed. They reached the spot immediately and registered a case at the Tilwara police station. Initial investigations have raised questions about the quality of construction materials and workplace safety measures.

The police assured that strict action will be taken against the culprits. Further investigations are underway.
