Bengaluru: The city is experiencing a change in its weather, offering chilly temperatures to the residents. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Bengaluru will witness moderate rainfall and cloudy skies on Sunday, December 1, 2024. The city woke up at 06:26 am and the sun is expected to set at 5:51.

The minimum and maximum temperatures are expected to range between 20 degrees Celsius and 23 degrees Celsius. The average temperature is likely to range around 21 degrees Celsius. The humidity level is expected to range around 84 per cent. The wind is expected to blow steadily from the North at a speed of 21 km/h and the Air Quality Index (AQI) is expected to stand at 54 which indicates a moderate air quality in the city and its surrounding areas. The weather department has said that temperatures could dip to 12 degrees Celsius in the upcoming days.

The IMD has forecasted partly cloudy skies, which is likely to remain the same throughout the day. The weather department also said that Bengaluru is set to experience moderate showers due to the impact of Cyclone Fengal. The dry air is likely to prevail in North Interior Karnataka. The IMD has issued a yellow alert in the South Interior of Karnataka as widespread moderate thunderstorms and lightning are likely to occur in the South Interior Karnataka.

Taking the IMD as a source, the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC) shared the weather report on X and stated, “Widespread moderate rain with thundershowers over south interior districts of the state, heavy rain is expected on December 2 & 3. #OrangeAlert issued by IMD.”

Weather forecast for upcoming days

The IMD issued an orange alert in the South Interior Karnataka for December 2 and 3 as heavy to very heavy rainfall is predicted in the region with thunderstorms, lighting, and squalls. Meanwhile, a yellow alert was issued in coastal areas and the North Interior Karnataka for December 3 and 4.
