Mumbai: The crematorium in Andheri’s Amboli will be shut for traditional services from December 1 onwards due to repair work undertaken by the BMC.
However, the natural gas crematorium service will be operational. Until the repair work is completed at Amboli, the facility for traditional cremation will be available at Vesave (Versova) Hindu Crematorium and Oshiwara Hindu Crematorium, the health officer of the BMC K-West ward said.
Meanwhile, the Small Animal Crematorium in Malad will be shut for three weeks starting from December 2 for maintenance work, the BMC’s Veterinary Department has informed.
However, for the cremation of dead animals weighing less than 50 kilos, the department has generated a link, https://vhd.mcgm.gov.in/incineration-booking, where people can register to cremate small animals. By registering on the given link, the last rites of the dead animal can be performed at the Malad crematorium at the selected time slot, Kalimpasha Pathan, General Manager, Veterinary Health Department, said.
