Minister’s style
Feats of a minister, who loves to remain in news, figure in public discussions in his constituency these days. The minister has recently started two school buses that he himself drove from the district headquarters to the school. There are talks about his role as the driver of a school bus. When the minister was driving the bus, the policemen on duty were tense, fearing lest there should be some unfortunate incident. So, the policemen were unhappy with the minister’s act. About the minister, it is said that he always finds some ways to remain in news. He sent the bus-riving video to several people. There are reports that his friends have advised him against getting involved in such a daring act. Once powerful, the minister is now losing importance in the government and spending more time in his constituency.
Kissa Kursi Ka
Many ministers have set their eyes on the departments of their cabinet colleague, who has recently lost an election. The Chief Minister is holding many departments. Ergo, they hope one of them will get the departments of their cabinet colleague who has lost the election. Against this backdrop, several ministers plan to meet the Chief Minister to lay their claim on those departments. The minister, from whom the departments were snatched and allotted to his colleague who lost the election, is very active in getting back his lost fortress. Three other ministers are also making efforts to get those departments. One of the ministers has already requested the head of the state to allot him an important department. He is also going all out to get it. Similarly, the minister, who was previously holding the department, is also sparing no effort to get it. He is using his clouts in Delhi to meet the purpose. There is another low-profile minister who is keen on getting the department. His purpose is to lay his hands on carrots.
Real poet
Organising a Kavi Sammelan (a conference of poets) on the occasion of the birthday of a Congress leader by his supporters has cost him dear. Many eminent poets from different parts of the country were invited to the meet. But one of the poets pulled up Congress leaders from the stage as well as criticised the party. The video of the conference has gone viral. Whenever the Congress leader watches the video, he gets angry. The video, in which the poet made a mockery of the Congress, has been reportedly sent to the party high command. The leader is now trying to give an explanation to his aides and has them not to call this poet to any function of the party again.
Emerging stronger
A minister of the MP cabinet has shown his guts in the Maharashtra assembly election in which the BJP has routed the opposition. The strike rate of the minister has gone so high, that he is being called ‘election-winning machine’ by the party. The BJP has won most of the states where the leader was sent for canvassing. In one of the states, the BJP may not have won the election, but his role in bringing the party to the forefront, cannot be ignored. In the same way, he worked hard to ensure the party’s victory in the difficult constituencies in Madhya Pradesh. What is more, by ensuring the party’s victory on these seats, the leader has made it clear that he is an expert in winning elections. Now, it has to be seen what he gets from the party in recognition of his good deeds.
Shocking defeat
A politician is in shock after his defeat in a recently held by-election. He resorted to all means – including performing religious rites – to win the poll, but Lady Luck did not favour him. Before the by-election, he organised Bhagwat Katha in his constituency to woo heavenly bodies. The politician organised religious functions even before taking over as minister to ward off evil spirits, but his efforts came to naught; and his rival snowed him under in a bit upset. Now that he has started aging, he may soon go into oblivion.
Surprising win
The Congress’s victory in an assembly by-election is no less than a surprise for a leader of the party. The leader was neither hopeful of a win in the constituency nor confident of so much decline in BJP’s victory margin in another. This had been the reason why the party’s executive committee meeting was held before the poll outcome. The purpose was to avoid any discussion about the by-poll results at the meeting. The leader was disappointed, for the senior members of the party kept away from it. There are reports that holding an executive committee meeting before the by-poll outcome is now paining him. Had he called the meeting after the by-poll results, he would have reigned supreme in the conference. On the other hand, another leader of the party is unhappy with the by-poll results, because he was sent to a different state for electioneering. The Congress has lost the election in that state. At the same time, he did not get any credit for the party’s victory in the by-election.
