Narmadapuram (Madhya Pradesh): A workshop was organised to raise awareness about how to curb incidents of crime against women on the premises of Prime Minister College of Excellence (government Narmada Degree College). The theme of the workshop was ‘Hum Honge Kamyab’ held under the guidance of district programme officer Lalit Kumar Dehriya and co-director VP Gaur.
The purpose was to give tips to women about the laws to stop gender violence. Administrator of one-stop centre Pratibha Bajpayee informed the audience about various laws to deal with the cases o domestic violence. Sub-inspector Deepika Lokhande spoke about various sections of Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
Similarly, inspector Nisha Ahirwar informed the audience about the Bharatiya Nyay Samhita 2023. Amita Joshi informed the audience about how to stop rising incidents of crime against women. The students and teachers of the college, policemen, and the officials of the one-stop centre were present at the workshop. Meanwhile, legislator from Narmadapuram Sitasaran Sharma has informed the women about the welfare schemes launched by the government, at a function held in one-stop centre as part of Hum Honge Kamyab campaign.
Deputy chairman of Nagar Palika Abhay Verma spoke about how to stop rising incidents of crime against crime with the help of various laws. Lawyer KK Thapak, who was also present at the function, informed the audience about security laws to be followed to curb crimes against women who were also informed about Dir Form.
