Araria 30 November (Hindustan Reporter). A meeting of the District Road Safety Committee was held under the chairmanship of SP Amit Ranjan in the Atman Auditorium located at the Collectorate. The meeting mainly discussed the status of compensation in road accidents related to helmet checking, hit run and non-hit run, overspeeding, auto e-rickshaw. Determining the route for operation of the bus, status of construction of the bus stop, getting rid of the problem of traffic jams and accidents at the main intersections of the city, black spots, CCTV cameras. Installation etc. were reviewed.

Earlier in the meeting, the Block Development Officer, Circle Officer and Police Station Head, connected through video conferencing, were given several instructions by the Superintendent of Police to take necessary vigilance on the occasion of Gadhimai Fair. In the meeting, District Transport Officer Sushil Kumar gave detailed information on the agenda related to the District Road Safety Committee. The Superintendent of Police instructed all police station heads to fix one day every week in which helmet checking should be made mandatory under a special campaign for vehicle checking. He instructed all the district and police administration officials and personnel to compulsorily use helmet while driving a two-wheeler and appealed to the common people to also use helmet.

In the meeting, the concerned officers were instructed to coordinate with the Sub-Divisional Police Officer and Transport to close the identified black spots. Similarly, instructions were given to the District Transport Officer to ensure proper action regarding compensation in road accidents related to hit run and non-hit run.
