Mumbai, 30 November (HS). Mumbai City FC defeated Hyderabad FC 1-0 in the Indian Super League 2024-25 match played at their home ground Mumbai Football Arena on Saturday. Centre-back Mehtab Singh scored the only goal in Mumbai City FC’s win in the 29th minute. Mumbai City midfielder Thayer Krouma was declared player of the match for his strong performance in the midfield.

Today, Czech head coach Peter Kratky will certainly be pleased with the Islanders’ first clean sheet at home this season. Mumbai City FC has moved from 10th to sixth place in the table with 13 points from nine matches, three wins, four draws and two losses. At the same time, Hyderabad FC head coach Thangboi Singto will definitely be disappointed with his team’s defeat. The only goal of the match came in the 29th minute, when centre-back Mehtab Singh gave Mumbai City FC an early lead to make it 1–0. On the fourth consecutive corner kick, captain Lallianzuala Chhangte made a cross from the left flank and centered the ball inside the box, where Mehtab, who was present in the crowd of players, hit an accurate header and the ball hit the right hand of goalkeeper Lalbiyakhlua Jongte and got entangled in the goal net. With this, Chhangte has become the player with the highest contribution of 36 (21 goals and 15 assists) for Mumbai City. He has overtaken his fellow winger Bipin Singh (35 contributions – 24 goals and 11 assists).
