A continuous search is being conducted to find out where Bushra Bibi, wife of former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan, has gone missing. In fact, she has not appeared in the court in the alleged corruption case of 19 crore pounds, after which Bushra Bibi is being searched. Bushra did not appear in court during eight consecutive hearings. After this the court issued a non-bailable warrant.

Justice Nasir Javed Rana rejected his plea for exemption from appearing in court. Since then, raids are being conducted to arrest Bushra. Following the court order, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) asked its team from Rawalpindi to arrest Bushra Bibi, officials said. Bushra Bibi currently lives in Peshawar, the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Former PM Imran Khan’s party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf is in power in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Media reports said that the NAB team had gone to Peshawar on November 23 to arrest Bushra Bibi, when officials showed the arrest warrant at Bushra Bibi’s house, it was found that she was not present at home, hence the police team left. The hand returned.

What is the allegation against Bushra Bibi?

Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi are both accused of embezzling 50 billion Pakistani rupees (190 million pounds), which was returned to Pakistan by Britain’s National Crime Agency under a deal with the property businessman. The money was meant for the national treasury of Pakistan, but was used for personal gain by helping Bushra and Khan build the university. Bibi is accused of benefiting from the deal as trustee of the Al-Qadir Trust. Bushra is also accused of acquiring 458 kanals of land for Al-Qadir University in Jhelum.
