bangladesh news: Atrocities against Hindus are increasing in Bangladesh. Earlier, many Hindu temples and pandals were targeted during Durga Puja. Now the bank accounts of Hindus are being frozen. The administration has frozen 17 bank accounts linked to Bangladesh-based ISKCON. The government has taken this step after Bangladesh High Court rejected the demand to ban ISKCON. Which was opposed by Hindus.
Bangladesh’s Financial Intelligence Unit ordered various banks to freeze 17 bank accounts linked to ISKCON for one month. This unit is affiliated to the main bank of Bangladesh. Along with freezing the accounts, banks have been ordered to submit complete information about any financial transactions done in them within three days. On October 30, a case of treason was registered against 19 people, including former ISKCON member Chinmoy Krishna Das, after which Das was arrested. ISKCON has opposed this action. On the other hand, the Indian government condemned the atrocities being committed on Hindus in Bangladesh and asked the interim Mohammad Yunus government of Bangladesh to take appropriate steps for the safety of Hindus.
Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar told Parliament that while the Indian High Commission in Bangladesh is looking into the situation of atrocities on minorities, including Hindus, India has repeatedly asked the Bangladesh government to take appropriate steps for the safety of the people. Protests were held by Hindus in West Bengal against the oppression of Hindus in Bangladesh. In Kolkata, on one hand, Muslims demonstrated against the Waqf Bill, while on the other hand, Hindus demonstrated against the atrocities taking place in Bangladesh.
A large number of Hindus and Muslims took to the streets in these protests. Due to which traffic problem arose in Kolkata. On the other hand, ISKCON issued a statement saying that ISKCON is with Chinmoy Das regarding the atrocities on minorities in Bangladesh and we are with all Sanat org.zations and Hindus. Indian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that India has raised the issue of atrocities against Hindus and other minorities with the Bangladesh government.
