UP: Over 200 Two-Wheelers Gutted In Massive Fire At Varanasi Railway Station; Terrifying Visuals Surface |

UP: A massive fire broke out in the vehicle parking area of Varanasi’s Cantt railway station in Uttar Pradesh in the wee hours of Saturday, leaving around 200 two-wheelers charred. Visuals from the scene showed towering flames and thick smoke engulfing the parking area as emergency teams worked tirelessly to contain the blaze.

Fire Brigade & Police Sprung In Action Immediately

Fire brigade and police officials swiftly responded to the incident, with a total of 12 fire engines deployed to douse the flames. Teams from the Government Railway Police (GRP), Railway Protection Force (RPF) and local police were also present at the site, assisting in the firefighting efforts. Despite the intensity of the fire, no injuries were reported.

Fire Doused Off After 2 Hours

Footage captured from the scene showed police officers using water hoses to tackle the flames, while plumes of smoke and a dense haze enveloped the area. Officials confirmed that the fire was brought under control after nearly two hours of concerted efforts by the emergency teams.

Short Circuit Likely Led To Massive Fire

Reports citing preliminary investigations suggest that the fire was triggered by a short circuit. Kunwar Bahadur Singh, CO GRP, stated, “There were some cycles also burnt in the incident. The fire was due to a short circuit. Further investigation is underway.”

Most of the vehicles damaged in the blaze reportedly belonged to railway employees. Authorities are continuing their probe to ascertain the exact cause and prevent such incidents in the future.

The quick response from fire and police officials helped avert a larger disaster, ensuring that the fire did not spread to other areas of the railway station.
