Jaipur, 29 November (Hindustan Reporter). Rajasthan High Court has rejected the PIL filed in the matter of selling some of the land allotted to the school of about ten thousand square meters in Alwar. Along with this, the court has also imposed a compensation of Rs 1 lakh on the petitioner. The division bench of CJ MM Srivastava and Justice Pankaj Bhandari gave this order while hearing the PIL filed by Ambedkar Nagar Vikas Samiti and others. The court acknowledged that criminal cases were pending against the petitioner and information about the same was not given to the court. Apart from this, such persons cannot file Public Interest Litigation. The court had reserved its decision on the petition about nine months ago.

In the PIL, advocate Vimal Chaudhary told the court that about ten thousand square meters of land in Alwar was allotted to the Vocational Education Trust for the school. The trust applied to UIT and got it divided and sold a part to Divya Infotech, the partnership firm of former MLA Banwari Lal Singhal. The firm sought approval for the Chief Minister Housing Scheme here. The petition said that the land allotted for the school cannot be used for any other purpose. Opposing this, advocate Shobhit Tiwadi, appearing for the trust, said that the court should look at the conduct of the petitioners before going on the merits of the petition. One of the petitioners, Nilesh Khandelwal, had contested the MLA election against Singhal in 2014 and several cases were registered against him. Whereas there are criminal cases against other petitioner Hemant Kumar and others also. Blackmailing, political interests and personal interests are being served under the guise of PIL. Hearing which, the division bench has dismissed the PIL with damages.
