Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A day before DGP Sudhir Saxena’s retirement, conflict between officials came to the fore. The SDG expressed that the parade which is going to be org.sed on Saturday is unlawful, citing the government letter of 2007. Interestingly, in the letter of 2007 it is not mentioned about the DGP farewell parade.
It is only for circuit house turnout parades, given to the Chief Minister, ministers and police officers. SDG Shailesh Singh wrote a letter on Friday to all SDGs, IGs, SPs and SAF Commandants and instructed them that the parade turnout had been stopped in the state and demonstrating such work is violation of government norms, so stop such practices. He also mentioned that such parade is a symbol of colonial rules, which shows our slavery mind-set.
The letter was written on the eve of the retirement of DGP Saxena. A farewell parade has been org.sed at Motilal Nehru police stadium on Saturday and the letter has raised several questions. The letter has brought turmoil in the police headquarters. Every officer was seen discussing about the letter. Many of them criticised the letter which came just a day before the mega police event.
The order
In the year 2007, the governor has been exempted from the ruling. It will not affect the Independence Day and Republic Day parade. One of the officers claimed that ‘in between it is also written that the ruling is limited to circuit house parade’.
