Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A dozen projects under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) Housing for All (HFA) scheme are far from completion even as the deadline has been extended time and again. Recently, BMC Commissioner Harendra Narayan set a fresh deadline of December 30 to complete 3 blocks of MIG-category houses at the 12-Number bus stop. Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) is the nodal agency for the construction of houses under PM-HFA projects.
BMC has earmarked Rs 40,000 lakh in Budget 2024-25. According to BMC administration, HFA projects are underway at Bagmugalia, 12-Number bus stop, Ganga Nagar, Shyam Nagar, Kalkheda, Neelbad, Bairagarh, Hinotiya Alam, Kokta (Yatayat Nagar), Bhanpur, Malikhedi, Rahul Nagar( Mata Mandir).
Beneficiaries, who have taken bank loans for the houses under the project, are running from pillar to post to get the allotment. They families continue to live at rented accommodation and are even paying EMIs for the house that has not been allotted. However, the BMC administration has instructed contractors to complete the projects at the earliest. While the construction remains incomplete, other civil work, electrical installation, and lift work also need to be completed.
In the 12-number bus stop, 216 houses of MIG category have been built in 03 blocks, while 576 houses are being built in 08 blocks of LIG houses and 432 houses in 09 blocks of EWS category. BMC officials said that contractors engaged earlier left the projects in between and BMC has now allotted a new tender to other contractors and all this is delaying the project .
BMC administration has been informed the latest position of the projects at 12 number bus stop’s HFA.The work of 01 block of MIG housing is almost complete at the project site, while only some work including finishing is remaining in the second and third blocks of MIG.
* The work of 01 block of LIG housing will be completed by March 2025 * The work of 02 other blocks will be completed by April and May.
* Work of 01 block of EWS will be completed by April,2025
* Work 02 blocks by May 2025.
* Electricity related work will be completed by 15 December 15
* Lift installation to be completed by December 30 2024.
