The Sahabiyaat, who include, Khadijah, Ayesha, and Salamah, the prophet’s wives, Fatimah, his daughter, and Asma, Ayesha’s sister and daughter of Abu Bakr, the first Caliph, are celebrated in Islamic history for their faith, courage, and contributions to the early Muslim community, playing pivotal roles in the  spread of Islam. Ayesha is respected for her knowledge of hadith, fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence), and medicine. She played an essential role in transmitting over 2,000 authentic narrations (Hadith) about the prophet. These women continue to inspire Muslims worldwide, reminding them of the immense contributions and legacy of women in Islam, the gathering was told.

Another theme for the day was the role of women in building a moral society and a strong nation. The Koran and the prophet make no distinction between man and woman with regard to the pursuit of knowledge. Participants were told that women are the primary nurturers of morality, entrusted with the task of nurturing and educating children, the future generation of a nation, instilling Islamic morals, compassion, and discipline in her children, ensuring they grow as responsible members of society. Women were told of their role as educators, architects and pillars of society.
