Shiv Sena (Shinde) faction leader Sanjay Shirsat said, ‘If Shinde does not accept the post of Deputy Chief Minister, then some other leader of our party will get the post. Shinde will take a decision on this by evening.
Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Shirsat said on Friday that if his party chief Eknath Shinde does not accept the post of Deputy Chief Minister, then the post will be given to someone else from his party. Speaking to the media, Shirsat said that Shinde will definitely not go to the Center as a Union Minister.
Big question- If not Shinde, who will become the deputy?
According to Sanjay Shirsat of Shiv Sena (Shinde), only Eknath Shinde will decide who will get the post of deputy in the government. The first name in discussion is that of his son Shrikant Shinde. Srikant is currently a Lok Sabha MP and it is being said that if Eknath Shinde himself does not become the Deputy CM, then he can enter politics by making his son the Deputy CM. Another reason behind the talk of establishing Srikanth in politics is the rise of Aditya Thackeray. Aditya Thackeray has been appointed the leader of the legislature party in Shiv Sena (UBT). The name of Jalgaon Rural MLA Gulabrao Patil is also in discussion. A poster of the probable Deputy CM has also been put up in Patil’s area. Along with this, the names of Uday Samant and Dada Bhuse are also being discussed in political circles. During the rebellion in Shiv Sena, Deepak Kesarkar and Bharat Gogwale played major roles on behalf of Eknath Shinde. If Shinde himself does not become the deputy, then he can express confidence in any one of these two.
After the spectacular performance of the Mahayuti alliance in the Maharashtra elections, caretaker Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has said that he will “fully support” the BJP leadership’s decision on naming the next Chief Minister and will not obstruct the process.
Eknath Shinde has been offered the post of Deputy Chief Minister and debate has begun as to whether he will accept it. Shirsat said, “If Shinde does not accept the post of Deputy Chief Minister, then some other leader of our party will get this post. Shinde will take a decision on this by evening.
Shiv Sena leader said- Shinde should be a part of the next government
On Thursday, the Shiv Sena leader said Shinde was unlikely to accept the post of Deputy Chief Minister in the new Maharashtra government. Shirsat’s party colleague and former minister Shambhuraj Desai said his elected MLAs and party workers strongly feel that Shinde should be part of the new government.
Desai was the guardian minister of Thane, Shinde’s bastion, from 2022 to 2024. Noting Shinde’s vast administrative experience, Desai said he should be part of the next Maharashtra government.
No decision could be taken in the Delhi meeting
Shinde, former CM Devendra Fadnavis and NCP chief Ajit Pawar met Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP president JP Nadda late on Thursday night to discuss a power-sharing agreement for the next government in Maharashtra.
Speaking to the media in Delhi after the meeting, Shinde said, “We will take a decision (on Maharashtra CM) in a day or two. We have discussed and discussions will continue. You will know when we take the final decision.” The results of Maharashtra elections held on 20 November were declared on 23 November. BJP won 132 seats, followed by its allies Shiv Sena (57) and NCP (41). From the opposition, Congress got 16 seats, while its MVA allies Shiv Sena (UBT) and NCP (SP) got only 20 and 10 seats respectively.
