Bangladesh bought weapons from Pakistan: India’s neighboring country Bangladesh, which is struggling with the problem of unrest and violence, has purchased large quantities of arms from Pakistan. After 52 years, Bangladesh has purchased a large quantity of arms from Pakistan. The treasury of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been used in the purchase of these weapons. Bangladesh’s interim government of Mohammad Yunus has come under suspicion regarding the purchase of these weapons.
The demand for the army increased as soon as the interim government took power.
After the coup in Bangladesh, Nobel laureate Mohammad Yunus took command of the interim government. As soon as they took command, the army demanded from the interim government that the Bangladesh Army should run out of ammunition and rifle rounds.
Most countries did not show interest
Considering the current situation and internal opposition in Bangladesh, no satisfactory response regarding ammunition was received from most of the countries. Therefore the advisors present in Bangladesh advised to buy ammunition from some other country instead of India. In such a situation, Pakistan supporters sitting in Bangladesh administration bought weapons from Pakistan.
Pakistan fulfilled the needs of Bangladesh
Pakistan is struggling with inflation, poverty and communal violence. In such a situation, Pakistan first demanded money from Bangladesh and said that weapons would be supplied to it only if Bangladesh gives the money first. Pakistan’s intelligence agency has advised its administration to take whatever money Bangladesh gives it. For the first time since 1971, Bangladesh directly demanded arms from Pakistan.
How many weapons did Bangladesh order from Pakistan?
To meet its requirement, Bangladesh has ordered about 50 thousand rounds of ammunition, 3 thousand units of tank ammunition, 50 tons of RDX explosive and 20 thousand rounds of ammunition from Pakistan. But now allegations of brokerage in the purchase of these weapons by Bangladesh are coming to the fore. Along with the interim government of Mohammad Yunus, many officers of Bangladesh Army are also under question regarding this.
