Thanksgiving is one of the biggest, and thanks to the dominance of American popular culture, it has in many ways become the most renowned occasion/festivity in and around the Anglophile world.

Anand Mahindra’s Thanksgiving Wishes

This year, Thanksgiving was celebrated on November 28. Wishes have poured in from all around, with many conveying the regards of the occasion to each other across continents, beyond seas.

Mahindra Group’s Anand Mahindra also conveyed his wishes one the occasion. However, some were not appreciative of this post.

In his first post, Anand Mahindra shared a post conveying his wishes. In the post, he said, “A Very Happy Thanksgiving to all our friends in the U.S. Greetings from India. Forgive us for hoping that your Turkey will be Tandoori!! #Thanksgiving.”

Netizens Questions Mahindra

This post carried a photograph of a cooked, marinated turkey. Turkey is a significant component of Thanksgiving traditions; in many ways, it is the symbol of the festival.

Some users retorted and enquired of Mahindra in the post. Replying to Mahindra’s post, one user enquired, “Do our vegetarian US friends celebrate ThanksGiving day sir? If yes How to wish them.”

Anand Mahindra Corrects Himself

Anand Mahindra, who himself is a devout vegetarian was quick to respond to this query. Quoting this reply, he added another post, in which he said, “This is the graphic I would use to wish my vegetarian friends a Happy Thanksgiving.”

In this post, he also added an image, in which an .mated (cartoon) chicken can be seen holding a picket reading ‘Eat Daal’, taking a sardonic dig through the post.

In the US, and many other places around the globe, the Thanksgiving festivity is followed by the commercially important Black Friday Sale, which sees a significant amount activities across the board, in different segments.
