Team India received more boost ahead of the second Test against Australia in Adelaide as Shubman Gill was seen practising in full flow at the nets, signaling his recovery from the thumb injury. A video surfaced on social media showed Gill batting fearlessly and displaying his trademark confidence, raising hopes of his participation in the day-night Test in Adelaide.
Gill had suffered the injury during a practice match before the Perth Test, ruling him out of the fixture. India won the series-opener emphatically by 295 runs, becoming the first visiting team to defeat Australia at Optus Stadium.
According to earlier reports from The Times of India, ‘Gill was advised a 10-14 day rest by the medical specialist after suffering that injury. He won’t play in the practice match on the weekend, and is doubtful at the moment for the second Test too. Let’s see how much his injury has healed, how his finger feels. Even after it has healed, he’ll need some quality practice before playing a Test match.’
However, with his recent stint in the nets, Gill seems ready to play the warm-up match against Prime Minister XI in Canberra on November 30, ahead of the pink-ball Test in Adelaide.

His form and adaptability in challenging conditions make him a key player in India’s lineup.
Fans are hopeful that Gill will make a strong comeback and deliver a stellar performance in the upcoming matches. With his class and composure, he could be a game-changer in the high-stakes clash against Australia. All eyes are now on the team announcement for the day-night Test.
