Mumbai: In a significant development in the NCP leader Baba Siddique murder case, the main shooter, Shiv Kumar Gautam, who was arrested from Bahraich in Uttar Pradesh, has made a startling confession during interrogation by the Crime Branch. Gautam revealed that while living in Pune, he had communicated online with Lawrence Bishnoi, the head of the Bishnoi gang.
During their conversation, Lawrence Bishnoi assured him not to p.c if he was caught by the police after killing Baba Siddique. Bishnoi allegedly promised that he and his men would secure Gautam’s release from jail within a few days. Furthermore, Bishnoi offered Gautam ₹12 lakh as payment and assured him of relocation abroad after his release.
Gautam further disclosed that Bishnoi had mentioned having a powerful team of lawyers who were prepared to ensure his release in a matter of days if he were arrested. Bishnoi had reportedly made all necessary arrangements for such a scenario.
This is the first time Lawrence Bishnoi’s name has surfaced in connection with Baba Siddique’s murder. A Crime Branch official highlighted the extent of brainwashing by the Bishnoi gang, stating that even after being arrested, Shiv Kumar showed no signs of fear or remorse. He firmly believes that he will be released soon.
The depth of his indoctrination is evident from his apparent ignorance of the consequences of his actions. The investigation is ongoing, with the police delving deeper into Bishnoi’s network and the larger conspiracy behind the crime. 26th accused Sumit Wagh has produced before court and he has been sent into Judicial custody.
