Kolkata, 28 November (HS). West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has made serious allegations of misuse of funds under the state’s Swasthya Sathi scheme. He said in the Assembly that this matter will be thoroughly investigated and the culprits will be given strict punishment. He R.G. Referring to the hospital dispute, he said that during the strike of junior doctors, treatment in government hospitals was disrupted, due to which the expenditure under the Swasthya Sathi scheme in private hospitals increased unexpectedly.

The Chief Minister said in the Assembly that at the time R.G. Because hospital doctors were not working, a lot of money was spent under the Swasthya Sathi scheme at that time. This money belongs to the public and its misuse will not be tolerated at any cost.

According to a recent survey, Rs 315 crore was spent under the Swasthya Sathi scheme between August 10 and September 18. This amount is much higher than at other times. According to the report, an average of Rs 7.86 crore was spent per day during the strike, which is Rs 1.13 crore more per day than on normal days.

The Chief Minister also said that some doctors practiced in private hospitals instead of working in government hospitals, which increased the expenditure under the scheme. He said that strict action will be taken against those who misuse public money.

Mamata Banerjee made it clear that the government will get to the bottom of this matter. He said, “It is true that a huge amount of our money has been spent. It is a matter of investigation as to who misused this money and how. The culprits will be punished.”

Chief Minister R.G. Also raising the controversy of tax hospital, he said that the matter is still in the court, but the increase in expenditure in the scheme during this time is worrying. He said in the Assembly, “We have to understand that public money should be used properly. If there is any disturbance in this, the culprits will not be spared.”
