Maharashtra CM: More than 72 hours have passed since the Maharashtra Assembly election results came. However, suspense still remains on who will become the Chief Minister. In such a situation, the possibility of Bharatiya Janata Party making any new or old claim regarding the name of the Chief Minister is also being expressed. For the last few years, it has been the trend of BJP that if it takes more than 72 hours to announce the name of the Chief Minister, then a surprise leader comes.

Let us see when such a situation had arisen before.
After winning absolute majority in Odisha, BJP took eight days to decide on the Chief Minister and finally the name of Mohan Maji from the tribal community was approved. The names of veteran leaders like Dharmendra Pradhan and Manmohan Sambal were in this race.

In late 2023, Rajasthan won the assembly elections and nine days later, the BJP announced the name of the new CM. Veteran leaders like Vasundhara Raje were marginalized. The name of Bhajanlal Sharma was announced, who was not in any race.

In Madhya Pradesh also, in 2023, BJP announced the name of Mohanlal Yadav in place of big leaders like Kailash Vijayvargiya, Prahlad Patel, Shivraj Singh Chauhan. Even at that time, the name of the Chief Minister was announced eight days after the election results.

In Chhattisgarh also in 2023, BJP surprised everyone by handing over the chair to Vishnudev Rai. At that time Raman Singh and Arun were at the forefront. It took seven days to announce the name of the Chief Minister.

In 2017, BJP got absolute majority in Uttar Pradesh, the country’s largest state in terms of politics. It took BJP nine days to decide the Chief Minister. The names of Keshav Prasad Maurya and Manoj Sinha were considered almost final. Suddenly the name of Yogi Adityanath was announced there.

In the 2014 Maharashtra Assembly elections, BJP won the maximum number of seats but no party could get majority. In such a situation, NCP announced to support the government from outside. The names of Nitin Gadkari, Vinod Tawde, Pankaja Munde were in the race to become Chief Minister. Seven days later, the name of the Chief Minister was announced and Devendra Fadnavis was selected.

Will he be like Nitin Patel now?

Not only this, BJP also announced surprising names for Chief Minister in Haryana, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh. There is also a fear that the condition of Devendra Fadnavis may not become like that of Nitin Patel of Gujarat. Nitin Patel’s name was almost confirmed to become the Chief Minister of Gujarat twice, when Anandiben Patel resigned and Vijay Rup. resigned from the cabinet. Although both times the name of Nitin Patel continued till the end, but in the end others had to taste the taste of power.
