Bettiah royal family property : Since there is no heir to the royal family’s land worth Rs 8000 crore in Bettiah, Bihar, reports have surfaced that the land has been confiscated by the Bihar government. The royal family of Bihar owns a total of 15215 acres of land, which is now vested in the Government of Bihar. The government feared that this valuable land was being illegally encroached upon.
Apart from this, there are also valuable royal properties in Prayagraj and Gorakhpur.
Interestingly, decades ago the Bettiana Raj family owned 143 acres of land in cities like Prayagraj and Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh. At present the value of his land in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh is Rs 8000 crore.
According to the law, it is the responsibility of the Bihar government to monitor the land.
Before India’s independence, the ‘Central Provinces Court of Wards Act’ was enacted in 1899. According to this, if the owner of the property is mentally unsound or is incapable of managing it because he is a minor, the land is taken care of by the government. At present the royal family of Bettiah does not have any inheritance, so the Government of Bihar is taking care of those lands under this Act.
Bill passed in Bihar Assembly
Like other properties, Bihar government will also take care of the property of Bettiah royal family. Immediate action will be taken to remove pressure from this land. According to the plan, the properties of the royal family in Uttar Pradesh will also be taken over by the Bihar government. For this, a bill has been passed in the Bihar Assembly.
