Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Sankalp Hubs for Women Empowerment (Sankalp-HEWs) will be set up in all the districts of Madhya Pradesh. They will work to promote greater participation of women in the workforce and ensure safety and security of working women. The hubs will be dedicated to promoting women’s rights and gender equality through advocacy, education and community engagement.
The State and the district HEWs will have identical administrative setup with one coordinator, two gender specialists, two research and training specialists, one accountant and one office assistant. The state-level HEW will act as a nodal agency for communication about the progress of implementation of Mission Shakti schemes to Sankalp-HEW at the national -level.
It will also act as a convergence and coordination point between central ministries and Sankalp. It will also org.se awareness camps and enrolment drives at the state and district level in coordination with departments implementing women-centric schemes. “The HEWs will be set up under a Central Government scheme. Though the scheme was launched in 2022, the state cabinet approved its implementation in the state recently,” Joint director, WCD, Suresh Tomar, said.
The Sankalp HEWs will provide information about government schemes to women. They will also provide career, health and educational guidance to women, besides sensitising government officials at all levels to the various aspects of empowerment and security and safety of women. They will also work to provide entrepreneurial training to women.
7 new One Stop Centres
The state government has decided to set up seven new One Stop Centres in the state. Currently, 57 One Stop Centres are functional. The new centres will come up in Petlawad in Jhabua district, Lasudia in Indore, Pandhurna, Dhar, Mauganj, Maihar and Manawar.
