Many telecom rules are going to change from December 1. TRAI has instructed telecom operators to strictly implement these new rules. Earlier these rules were to come into effect from November 1, but later it was relaxed by one month. Now these new rules will come into effect from December 1.
These rules will affect all users including Jio, Airtel, Vodafone Idea, BSNL. TRAI is required to enforce these rules to prevent spam calls and messages.
The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India has implemented several new rules to protect users from online fraud. TRAI has directed telecom comp.es to implement message traceability. This decision was announced in the month of August itself, in which the commercial message was focused on one OTP. This rule was to come into effect several months ago, but the deadline was later extended.
Why was the deadline extended?
Initially, telecom comp.es were given a deadline of October 31 to implement the traceability rules, but after appeals from comp.es like Jio, Airtel, Vodafone Idea and BSNL, the deadline was extended to November 30. That means now the time has come to implement these rules.
From December 1, all comp.es will have to follow TRAI rules to track commercial and OTP messages. The thing to note here is that if Jio, Airtel, BSNL, Vi implement these traceability rules from December 1, then users will get a lot of relief.
These rules are also discussed
A new rule will also come into effect from January 1, 2025, which will also affect the customers of Jio, Airtel, BSNL and Vodafone Idea. The purpose of this regulation is to expand the basic network of 5G across the country. The government had recently said under the Telecom Act that now comp.es will not have to face much trouble in setting up new towers. With the implementation of right of way, this process will become easier than before.
