The number of Apple users in India is increasing day by day, people are showing interest in buying iPhone and due to this the company has also increased its production relying on India. The increase in iPhone production has also created a new record.

Apple’s production was 10 billion dollars

Due to the PLI scheme of the Government of India, Apple’s production has touched the figure of 10 billion dollars i.e. about Rs 84,000 crore in the current financial year 2024-25. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has given this information by posting on social media platform X. The Union Minister said in his post that this figure is 37 percent more than 24 percent in the last financial year. He said that out of $10 billion worth of iPhones, $7 billion were exported in the last 7 months.

About 1,75,000 people got jobs in 4 years

He considered this record a big milestone. This means that about 70 percent of the goods produced were exported, while $3 billion worth of iPhones were sold in the domestic market. October 2024 was a historic month for Apple in India, when iPhone production crossed $2 billion in a month for the first time. Along with this, the Union Minister said that in the last 4 years, about 1,75,000 people have got jobs in Apple and the interesting thing is that 73 percent of them are women.

The PLI scheme was implemented in FY2011 as most of the beneficiaries, except Samsung, were not able to meet the target in the first year itself. After this the scheme was extended for 6 years. The plan ends in FY26 for every company except Samsung, for which FY25 is the final year.

Exports increased in 7 months

According to industry data, Apple has exported iPhones worth about $7 billion from India in the last 7 months. Between April and October, the company exported phones worth about Rs 8,450 crore (about $ 1 billion) every month. The company has made the highest ever earnings in India in the July-September period.
